Dates Granola Bars

3. Date Granola BarsPin

I was thinking of giving the 3 back-to-back series a break this month as well, like I did in August, but while simply browsing through my drafts, the idea for what I need to do this month hit me and here I am with it! 🙂 Since I have been a vegan for five months, I have always looked at various ideas to satisfy my sweet tooth. I am feeling so amazed that there are actually ways of making sweets without having oodles of butter, eggs and milk in it. I have already shared some bakes on the blog before and will continue sharing more in the future, InShaAllah. Though I have now got back to having milk into my diet, my curiosity to try and make more vegan desserts is definitely not going to lay to rest for any time sooner. So this time it is three back to back vegan desserts for all my lovely readers… 🙂

The first one I selected to do were these amazing power packed bites of goodness. If you do a Google search, you will see a lot of vegan desserts are majorly based on dates and nuts. Both these natural foods are typical power houses of nutrients and you just need a little quantity to feel recharged and filled. I have seen many calling them “no-bake brownies” but I would prefer to call them by its name. 😉 This is a delicious bar that combines the goodness of dates paste (I took the easy way out, you see!), granola and almonds, added some chocolate chips and desiccated coconut for an extra touch. These bars were simply amazing! I used this granola to make the bars but you can use store bought or any of your home made recipe. Guilt free at best, but it has everything that you need too… Try out these bars if you are in a mood for some sweetness but don’t want to go overboard with it. They make a good after-school snack or post workout bites too. Off to the recipe… And yes, do stay tuned for the other two recipes coming up in the next two days… 🙂

  3. Yay! I have almost 750 grams of date paste leftover from Ramadan! And just last night I took it out and kept to bring to room temp. F says I dont need to refrigerate, but I felt the need once I used a little of it. What do you think?
So I was planning to make a cake, but now I seeing this, I am going to make this right away! 😀

If the kitchen is cool, then you don’t need to refrigerate it, but if it isn’t, like mine, then you may need to, though it gets hard once in the fridge. This is definitely healthier than a cake for sure… 🙂 Thanks a lot daa…
