Isn’t it mango season? Mango is easily one of the most favorite fruits of many. Since April is officially the month of mangoes, I thought of doing this month’s three-back-to-back series with the theme of “Simple Mango Desserts”. Even last April, I had done a similar series featuring the Mango Custard Verrines, Aamras and Semolina Mango Cake. This time, I am here with some more mango goodness, but really simple recipes with a heart-filling capabilities… 😉 Ready? 🙂
The first one is like you have seen in the name – Mango Cream. Fruit creams are very well received these days. Most of the cafes that serve fresh fruit varieties will definitely have a set of fruit creams. Haji Ali is very well known for the same. We have one outlet right next to our office and we used to keep ordering their delicious cheesy sandwiches. I never ordered their cream because I have always felt that they were too expensive to be trying out!
This Mango Cream is made with ingredients right in your pantry. Of course you need a lot of mangoes, some to be pureed and some to be nicely chopped in for the bites. It is so easy to put together – just grind all ingredients till smooth and allow them to rest in the fridge, so that they set and become of a scoop-able consistency. Then the next you do is to add some chopped mangoes and pistachios if you love them and dig in!
How do you eat your creams? I take a full spoonful and then slowly play it around in my mouth, just to get all the flavors! 😀 Somehow, even a small bowl takes me quite a lot of time to finish. I am a believer in “savoring every moment” and this dessert is such to be savored in every spoon! 😉 Off to this simple recipe…
Mango Cream

- 3 large mangoes + 2 more mangoes
- 2 x 170 gm pack cream
- 3/4 tin condensed milk
- Crushed pistachios for garnish

For me mangoes are sacred and I eat them in the pure form. Mango Cream is the only exception that I make. Your pics have started a craving in a week that I am absolutely resolved to be true to my diet. 😀
Looking forward to my cheat day to try this.
I know how blogging makes us want to leave our diets aside… hehe… thank you so much Aruna…
simple creamy mango dessert
Thanks Veena…
This is so simple and I yearn to try it, can you tell me the quantity in terms of cups for the mangoes (size of mangoes can be subjective) & condensed milk 3/4th of 400 gms tin or 200 gms tin??
Hi Saranya. The ingredients are just like you mentioned – subjective. Add condensed milk to your level of sweetness. Some mangoes are creamier and sweeter, so go as per that. Here we only get the 400 gm tin, so it is 3/4 of the tin, however you can use the whole tin if you want it sweeter. The mangoes would be roughly 2 to 2 1/2 cups of puree… Hope this will suffice…
