While I was scheduling the posts for the Blogging Marathon #81 under the theme “Apple Desserts”, I was confused if a smoothie would come into its limit. An email to Valli and I got a very reassuring response – “If you crave for dessert but you are lazy to really cook up one, then a smoothie should do, right?” 😀
Recently, I bought a Russell Hobbs juice blender. I have been eyeing the Nutri Bullet but it was way above my budget and I was skeptical while I picked this up. I love juicing and at any time, my cravings are mostly subsided by one easy blitz. That explains why I have many many ideas of cold drinks loaded on the blog! Many say that juicing is not a good way of having your fruits but I don’t seem to agree to it. Off late, what all used to be good turned bad and what all was bad has turned good. So I am nobody to comment about it.
Anyway, this smoothie happened when I had to finish off some kiwi in the fridge which nobody wanted to eat, including myself, since it was too sour. I don’t like to throw away my fruits, so I ended up blitzing it with an apple. What a smoothie it was! I loved how the tiny seeds of the kiwi gave it a nice bite and the sourness of the kiwi was masked by the apple. 😀 It reminded me of the Banana Kiwi Smoothie I made sometime back. Off to the recipe…

Making a smoothie a out of fruits which have no one at home wants to consume is a cool idea. Smoothie looks so refreshing and filling as well.

You are just an expert in smoothies Rafee…With every alternate day of cold or sore throat I have given up our smoothie consumption … Your smoothie is so very tempting
I make smoothies at least once a week, as my Saturday workout meal… hehe… thanks a lot Anupa…
I don’t like to juice my fruits. At least plan not to do it as long as I have my 32 intact. An occasional treat especially if it finishes fruits that no one wants yes I too will try a juice.
Your smoothie sounds yummy and since I have both apples and kiwi no one wants will make it for my breakfast.
Even I am a whole fruit person who loves it in my smoothies too! Thank you so much Archana…
That extra dash of Vanilla would do wonders. I should try this. I am even curious to know how the outcome is when I substitute green Kiwi with Golden Kiwi.
You can try any kiwi… just that it would be sweeter for sure! Thanks a lot Tuma…
One of my favourite earlier, but now coz of my allergy to kiwi, i cant whip this drink, excellent smoothie for anyone.
Never knew kiwi could cause allergy! Thanks a lot Priyaakka…
I try not to make juice because I hate washing the blender and its lid! It is like the fruit particles go to every place unreachable… Apple and kiwi – I always use a portion of yoghurt when making apple as it brings out good colour.
The main reason why I got a mix and go! Makes life so much easier… hehe… This was meant to be vegan, will try yogurt next time, InShaAllah…
