Sweet melon, or “shamaam” as it is called here, is a fruit that the men in the house love. HD always makes it a point to bring it when he is sent for grocery and B also tends to bring one whenever he gets a chance. But somehow, the kids nor I are a fan of it. Azza eats it once in a while, but not Rasha. I prefer more in the form of this milkshake, so each time they bring it, I blitz up a part for myself. Normally I add milk in most of my milkshakes, but for shamaam, I prefer adding heaps of milk powder, since it gives a nice flavor and completely masks the fruit well. I mean it is totally upto how we all perceive each food, right? 🙂 Do make sure to chop off a thick portion of its skin, since any part of it in the drink gives a very unpleasant taste. I remember posting this ice cream made with this fruit during the early days of the blog. Off to the recipe…
