After a little hiatus, we are back with the Muslim Food Blogger Challenge this month. Of late, we have been looking at easy themes to get in a bit of participation. How much that strategy has helped, I don’t want to comment. 🙂 When it comes to blogging, it becomes the last priority when life keeps throwing things at you on a constant basis. It is happening at the moment for me too. It is just that I don’t want to let my passion die and I am fighting it as much as I can. I have been doing the same for the past two years and so far, I have been successful. But how much I can hold myself up needs to be seen… 🙂
Coming back to the challenge, the theme for the month is “Sandwich”. So what is a sandwich? In layman terms, it is something smothered on anything that classifies as “bread”. Before, it used to be just jam in between two slices of bread, whether it is buttered or not depends on individual preference. Having said that, umma never toasted our bread. She would just slather something directly and serve. Even her toasties never had butter or oil spread on it. She would always say, “why to add more fat?” 😀 Taking cue from her, I don’t add any butter while toasting bread for the girls. I would make bull’s eye on the pan, and toast onto the same pan so it cleans up whatever little of the oil is remaining in the pan. 😉 There are a few sandwiches already on the blog, which can be checked here.
As has been recently, I ran through this the last minute. Last week, I had a bout of flu and I was so badly craving for something sweet. That is when I remembered about this recipe that I have been wanting to make since so long. I am no Nutella fan but a little wouldn’t hurt, isn’t it? Unfortunately, I ran out of bread and had to eat what you can see in the clicks. If I would have had one more bread, I would have eaten more! Hehe… I ate it all by my own and am intending to make this for the girls’ lunch box soon, before they see this click and ask me, “I guess you didn’t make this for us???” *eyes rolling* I think the mammas get it, you can’t make anything for yourself without sharing… But does that make you a bad mother? :/ 😉 This recipe is just apt for one if you don’t want to share or two if you want to spread your calories. Off to this simple recipe…
