For the second week of the Blogging Marathon #110, I have chosen the theme of “Breakfasts”. Even though everybody would say that breakfast is the most required meal for the day, I am really not a breakfast person. I can’t eat really early in to the morning, neither can I have a heavy meal. Hehe… You can find some easy breakfast recipes already on the blog over here. Adding three more to it…
Bread sandwiches are a repeat for my kids’ lunch boxes. They love bread, and they love it with any spread. Nutella and Biscoff is always welcome, and Rasha prefers peanut butter over jam and Azza is viceversa. I am someone who doesn’t like to have jam on its own. Either it needs to have thin slice of cold butter in it (are you salivating? I am!) or a nice slather of cheese. The saltiness of the cream cheese balances out the sweetness of the jam and makes it a nice sandwich. My girls aren’t that fond of it, but since I love it, I still keep it in their lunch box once a week. 😀 Talk about being a compulsive mom who doesn’t care much! 😉 Azza would come back with an empty lunch box and as she washes it, would comment, “Ummi, haven’t I told you I don’t like jam and cheese together? It is such a weird combination…” But since they still eat it, it will still appear in their boxes till I get bored of it… 😉 Do you have preferences with jam? I always pick up mixed fruit and off late, moving a lot towards apricot flavor. Off to this literal no-brainer… hehe…
A simple and very tasty sandwich!
Thanks Angie!
Well , I guess I am also like Azza – I too wouldn’t want jam and cheese ! It is a very popular combo with many kids so obviously it must be delicious !
Thank you so much Vaishali…
Jam and cheese sandwiches are very popular here in Gujarat . The Gujjus are very fond of cheese and use it in just about anything . Well , even I do not like the combo of savoury and sweet , but You definitely are a super mom trying to train the children to eat everything !
Great to know dear…
I have never tried jam and cheese sandwich – sounds like a great combo. I am more of a peanut butter and jam or butter and jam kind of a person 🙂
Thank you so much Pavani… 🙂
This is surely a favorite combination for bread and I would love it. We are a breakfast family, though you can say lunch and dinner too..heheheh..however, yes planning for breakfast is a big thing for us and my better half doesn’t prefer bread..so I make these for kids snack..:)
Thank you so much Valli… 🙂
