Trying to eat healthy is truly not a joke. First of all, you are giving your body a hell lot of reasons to start making you feel so uneasy and grumpy. The usual bout of chocolate or sweets or any junk stuff you used to push in to give it a boost is not coming in the same speed as it used to come in earlier. Coffee is being replaced by a more “bland” green tea, and normal chai is also not coming in as much as it used to. Food preferences has changed and carbs are being reduced. I must say that there was too much of withdrawal syndromes, but I am trying not to stop myself. As of now, I am focusing on having better meals which are more nutritious and filling, and will not make me feel guilty. I am trying to replace chocolates during my off moods and stretching my hands towards a nice big banana or a few almonds. And I guess it is helping me in some way. The lose of the past one month is a kg, but a kg is still a kg, right? I have to keep putting a few notes here and there so that I tell myself that I have put it up for everybody to read and I have no option than to ensure that I lose some weight! Hehe… 😀
I have already posted two kale smoothie recipes before – one a normal smoothie and another one with a kick of chocolate. This is the third smoothie and the last one with kale for the time being, ie. till I try another variety! Unfortunately, the supermarket chain next to our house is no longer keeping kale – maybe it is getting spoiled with nobody picking it up and hence I miss on my kale smoothies as of now. 🙁 I guess I have to look into juicing spinach which is more readily available! I came across this recipe in my cut-outs taken from the Friday magazine and had tried it. Must say that it is quite filling with all those fruits in and totally packed with goodness in every way! What more, there is no additional sugar added as well…
Green Goodness Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 leaves kale stem removed
- 1/2 apple cored and diced
- 1 banana chopped
- 3 strawberries
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients till smooth.
- Serve Immediately
