We had a long weekend this time due to the holiday of Israwal Miraaj being pre-poned. We have guests staying at our house so we took the opportunity to go around Abu Dhabi and showing them around. Whoever goes to Abu Dhabi, a visit to the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Mosque is a must, so that was our last stop before returning back home. I had gone there early February with my parents on a very chilled, blowing day. I had forgotten my watch at the ablution area and remembered about it only halfway on our drive back. By then, I had no way to go back to get it. I normally keep my watch in my bag during wudu, but this time, I don’t know what had happened. This time, I took a chance and asked the security regarding the watch. My habit of taking clicks helped me trace the date we were there. Finally after a wait of almost an hour which coincided with the Maghrib prayers, I finally received back my watch. What a relief! It was an old watch D had gifted long back but since I wasn’t fond of the shape, it remained in the box till around five to six years ago. A few months back, the strap broke and I got it replaced with a new one, so it looks brand new now. I was really upset with myself for leaving it behind but was hopeful I would have it back, though I was not sure how soon it would be. Alhamdulillah, I got it back much faster than I expected. 🙂 How many times have you lost something and it has been returned back to you, especially when you didn’t expect to come back to you? Do share in the comments, please… 🙂
Hot days are coming back with full vengeance and all you want to do is feel hydrated. I love a good carrot milkshake, so a carrot lassi was a natural idea for me. I wasn’t disappointed! I took the easy way of cooking the carrot in the microwave and had a lassi as soon as time would permit! It was delicious and I shamelessly gulped down both the glasses that I had prepared. 😉 Off to the recipe…

Getting back things we lost can be a big relief as though it was destined to come back… and also we realise the importance of it more when it is gone. But yes I missed a chance to meet you this time. We will make it happen next time. I have thought of carrot lassi lot of times but never actually tried.
Since it was a guest taking around, I wasn’t able to sneak any other visit in, but for sure InShaAllah, one day we must meet… Thanks a lot dear…
