Banana Rose Milk Shake

A delicious banana milk shake spiked with rose syrup…

I was actually planning to give a miss to posting this week, but somehow, I didn’t feel like. There are very few occasions that I usually put up on the blog – the birthday of the blog, our wedding anniversary and then the birthday of both my girls. If not on the exact day, there will be a post before or after a day. There are always moments in life that you are grateful for and I believe that it is nice to remember them, just to feel humble. Today, we complete 18 years of marriage. Sometimes, when I look behind, I wonder how we got through whatever we went through in our marriage. From being a madly-in-love couple to a couple that got marred by the trenches thrown in by life, we seem to have gone through it all. I can’t say whether it has strengthened our relationship or whether we are in it because of convenience. I guess those are stages every one goes through in a marriage, isn’t it? There is always something to ponder on and all I can say, is that I am grateful for the man in my life, Alhamdulillah… 🙂

Just thought of coming around and sharing a very simple drink recipe. With Ramadan, the eating of bananas drastically reduces and watermelon increases. As a result, I end up with some extra ripe bananas that get transported into the fridge. I don’t want to bake anything this month, since they just tend to languish in the panty. Since rose syrup is a must have during this time, I decided to spike up the regular banana shake with some rose syrup. I wasn’t disappointed. In fact, the girls really loved it as well, maybe because the syrup masked the banana flavor perfectly well. So there you go, something you can make with ripe bananas, so refreshing for your Iftar time… Off to the recipe…
