Pomegranate Lemonade

16. Pomegranate Lemonade

“O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire where the fuel is men and stones, over which are set angels strong, severe, who resist not Allah in that which He commands them, but do that which they are commanded.” (Surah At-Tahrim:6)

As much as Allah mentions Jannah (paradise) to us, He mentions Jahannam (hell) as many times – 77 times. As much as the Qur’an instills into us a positivism about life, it equally wants us to be responsible for each of our actions. Yes, things do happen as per His Qadr and He forgives us if we sincerely repent, but once done, it becomes imperative for us to think twice or thrice till your conscience makes it clear to you that what you are doing is not going to anger the Lord. There is another verse about hell, each time I hear it in my car, Sheikh Sudais weeps inconsolably… May Allah protect us from such a fate… Aameen… During this holy month, may we be able to train our heart and mind to look at each and every of our actions in a way that we evaluate the pros and cons before we jump into it. As humans, it is not possible that we take the right decision all the time but when we are cautious of what we do, InShaAllah, He will protect us from Jahannam… May He bless all of us with His Ultimate House, as He has promised to us for our righteous deeds… Aameen…

Coming to the third drink after the Qamardeen and Figs Dates Smoothie, this is the third one – another easy one. Pomegranate is another fruit mentioned in the Qur’an. Have you noticed one thing about this fruit? You can keep it out for long, but apart from it’s cover getting hardened, the inside stays in tact. I keep forgetting that I have it in my fridge and to my surprise, it wouldn’t get spoiled. I already have a pomegranate juice recipe on the blog, this lemonade is more like a watered down version of it and spiked with some good quantity of lemon juice. You can prepare it well in hand and keep it chilled till the time of serving.

  6. Ah! I am going to try this sometime soon! I have some HUGE pomegranate that gives me two cups of arils! Can I replace lemon instead of lime? and making ahead is fine? I thought anything with lime will make it bitter if kept too long. let me try it.
