When I had gone for Umrah last February, I had bought a copy of Ibn Kathir’s “Stories of the Prophets” and have been reading since then. Since each page has so much information, I do not read more than a couple of pages. During this Ramadan, I am continuing reading it along side my normal Quran recitation and translation. Last week I had read the stories of Prophet Ayoub (AS) and then Prophet Yunus (AS). What stuck me the most were their supplications to the Almighty depending on their situation.
“And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darkness, “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” (Surah Al-Anbiya:87)
I was wondering to myself, why we can’t include these supplications in our daily routine prayers! We are all sinners in our way – I am not clean myself and if we all review our inside, we will realize that we are neither too. We can never claim to be pure when Allah has created us with a heart that can sin. Sometimes the wound which I think is already dried breaks up and bleeds. And Alhamdulillah, both these duas are helping me feel a lot of calm… I suggest that my dear readers also use them not only this precious month but whenever you can…
Coming to the recipe for today, this was shared by HD’s cousin’s wife. During a casual conversation, she hinted at making sausage cutlets for her boys when they come back from school. I was intrigued by the idea – making cutlets with sausage? The savories I make with sausage includes these simple puffs or in the form of pakodas or these rolls. The blogger in me had to ask her for the recipe and here it is! If you are looking for cutlets but don’t want to slog for longer, then this one is an easy way of satisfying the craving. Off to the way it is made…
