Tenth of the month and it is time for the Muslim Food Blogger’s Challenge! This month, I decided to keep the theme really simple hoping for more participation. 🙂 The theme was breakfast…
Breakfast is definitely one of the most important meal of the day. It is fuel to the body that has released itself of all the previous day food given to it for processing. Living in a country like UAE where life starts really early mainly by getting stuck in traffic for hours, most of us seem to just skip breakfast rather than trying to have it. But now I guess with changing mentalities on general health and fitness, everybody seems to be taking breakfast a little seriously. I am somebody who always carries something or the other in my bag to have it in the office, or if I don’t get the time, I would at least order in something.
Overnight smoothie is one of my favorite breakfast especially on Saturday mornings when I hit the gym early in the morning before starting my chores. I have already shared a couple of them here and here, and so far this is my most favorite one. How won’t it be? It has two of my favorite fruits, mango and banana. It is filled of goodness of oats and chia/ flax/ wheatgerm, whichever you choose to include into it. Since we leave it in the fridge after blending, the smoothie thickens up and becomes really filling for a busy morning ahead. Mangoes are slowly coming into season though it is still expensive and I always have a couple of packs of ripened bananas frozen for emergency situations. Hehe… off to this simple recipe…
