We had the Sharjah Book Fair at the expo center for 10 days. Last year, I had so much of will power that I came out without buying even a single book for myself. To compensate for that, this time, I picked up so many, adding on 13 books to my shelf. 😕 I really don’t know if I need to be going to a de-addiction center to get rid of my cookbook addiction. There was a time when I used to love watches and rings, this has weaned away. Then it became shoes and bags, which then gave way to abayas. Everything has now settled and moved way to a really expensive addiction of cookbooks! Cookbooks in this part of the world don’t come cheap and getting them at a real bargain is a rarity. So you can imagine my excitement when I picked up books like Simply Nigella, Jamie’s Italy, Lisa Faulkner, Atul’s Curries of the World, Annabel Karmel and Gordon Ramsay at literal throw-away prices! Not to mention some tiny books I picked up and some binge purchasing I did on Amazon. I don’t know if I need to feel proud or ashamed but I am telling myself no more buying cookbooks at least till mid 2017. I maybe setting a long term goal but I have to do it, so that I am not spending money on more books and will cook from those that are adorning my shelves from long. 😕
OK, now that the ranting is over, let’s come to this soul satisfying egg salad. I am slowly getting back to my normal eating habits and my body is kind of getting a little wild, but I know it will accept it much faster as usual. I have a very cooperative body which stores up everything happily given to it. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. 😀 This egg salad is so easy to put together. You have to just ensure that you have hard boiled eggs and the rest comes together effortlessly. I wouldn’t say it is a healthy salad, since the dressing is pretty heavy with the mayonnaise and the mustard, but once in a while, you can indulge even in a salad. 😀 I normally don’t like heavily dressed salads, for me it is just a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper but this salad is an exception. I don’t make this much, but only when I really crave for a nice rich salad. Off to the recipe…
