A quick breakfast oats spiked with burnt garlic…
It has been a really long time since I have participated in the Blogging Marathon. I have decided to go slow on the challenges as well, since I feel my head is a bit too diverted, even without work to disturb! I find it a little annoying, but I guess that is how life is, isn’t it? Hehe… This month is version #131 and for this week, the theme I chose is “Kid’s Delight – Quick Breakfast”. If I am being frank, I really don’t like cooking breakfast. The only person who likes to eat it is HD and making for him alone something grand is definitely not my agenda, for which he gets cross with me almost every day. 😀 My breakfast is usually boiled eggs or omelette and if I am really in a mood, then some pancakes. The reason why I chose this theme is to try and figure out some more new breakfast ideas that I can fall onto when needed. Hehe…
Oats is usually sweet in our home. The only way usually I have it savory is when I make masala oats. But that involves a little bit of slicing and chopping, while in this recipe, the only thing you peel and slice is a couple of garlic. The oats is cooked in water with seasoning of choice – I used creole seasoning and it was literally “mwah”. Then the garlic is thinly sliced in heated butter and fried till crisp. Drizzle into the oats and dig in. I must say that the tadka is enough to raise this simple breakfast to another level. I had it with one boiled egg and a cup of black coffee. This is one total lazy breakfast that you can even pack in your tiffin to take it to work. It is best eaten warm, even though you can have it at room temperature too. Off to this simple recipe…

Very interesting breakfast with oats Rafeeda. I love the flavor we get with burnt garlic and I am sure this must have tasted out of the world!
Oats is my favorite breakfast mostly in savory flavors. But never tried with just garlic alone. This must be amazing. I am having this on my list as burnt garlic sounds yum! This is a delightful breakfast.
That is a super quick breakfast recipe. Perfect for bachelors and teens 🙂
