With the season now changing, the girls always want something cold. I always have a tussle with them to avoid anything cold since Rasha always ends up with throat infection, due to her sinus issue. But then kids being kids, really aren’t bothered of how much they will suffer in case they take something cold, right? It’s the same in my home too!
Most of the time, it’s easier to make simple popsicles at home. Most of the time, they just need Tang popsicles and that’s so easy to make, isn’t it? Hehe… Once while flipping through a magazine, I saw this really simple recipe. It reminded me of the vanilla pods Priya had bought for us, that I am using like gold. I decided to use them up in these really simple popsicles that has just three ingredients and no added sugar, apart from just some honey! You must try making these at home to know how easy and delicious these popsicles are. I have used freshly squeezed orange juice, though you may use canned orange juice. I wouldn’t since I am not a fan of it – the original stuff is so much better! Even though I have used scraped vanilla pods, you may use vanilla extract or even skip it. Off to the recipe…
Orange Yogurt Vanilla Popsicles
Ingredients
- 1 cup thick yogurt
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 vanilla pod scraped
- 1 tbsp honey as per sweetness
Instructions
- Whisk all ingredients in a bowl till smooth.
- Pour into 8 popsicle moulds.
- Freeze for 4 hours to harden.
- To release, dip the mould briefly into hot water before pulling it out. Enjoy this healthy treat!

Thank you so much Priyaakka…
Just like Rasha, I am fond of eating Pops but have a weak tonsils so it gets inflamed with anything ice. Doesnt stop me from eating them though. Honestly though I have reduced eating the amount of icecreams now, Summers this year are forcing me to try few pops recipes myself. Tang Pops were something I made as a child and enjoyed thoroughly. I still love the road side golas or crushed ice pops and nothing beats that sugar laden guilt goodness.. haha.. What I loved about the recipe is the use of yoghurt instead of milk and minimal sugar. Enough to please your senses and keep you happy too. Great share Rafee!
Even she has sinus issues but that usually doesn’t bog down her, kids after all! Hehe… Thank you so much Vidya…
I’ve yet to make popsicles using yogurt. This may be just the recipe to try. Will give me the opportunity to use vanilla pods that my son gifted me. The other plus point is that you’ve used a natural sweetener.
Thank you so much Mayuriji…
