I am still in the vacation hangover. The climate this time was Alhamdulillah, amazing. Unlike last year, where there was a literal heat wave during the same period, this time saw intermittent rains and sunshine. Mornings would be dry and clear, making it easy to move around, though it did make life a little difficult, but it would rain consistently during the nights and early morning, making you want to make your bed and blanket your best friend. A couple of days before we came back, specifically speaking, last Tuesday, we had amazing rains that lasted more than 12 hours. It wasn’t heavy but it was non-stop. We had gone for a drive to Kakkayam during that time and I must say, it was truly amazing. The greenery and the mist just gave such a beautiful dimension and the rain just added to it. We had a long walk in the rain with two umbrellas, and were all drenched up once done, but thankfully, none of us got sick after the whole exercise, hehe… 😀
Coming to today’s recipe, orange and carrot are two of my favorite fruits (whether carrot is a fruit is always a point of dispute! 😉 ) to blitz. A simple orange juice, or a carrot milkshake can make me feel like a child. Then how about mixing the two? It is literally like having a lot of goodness in one glass. I normally jazz it up with a piece of ginger – this root can do wonders to your juices! A very simple straightforward recipe…
- 1 large carrot, peeled and chopped
- 2 oranges, peeled and chopped
- 1 small pc ginger (optional)
- 2 tbsp raw sugar
- 1 cup cold water
- Blitz all ingredients till done.
- Strain if you want a smooth juice or have it as is!
