Actually speaking, I was not expecting myself to be hosting a guest on this space this month. Like I mentioned last month, I had decided to give the series a breaker and let it breathe by itself, and that is exactly what happened! I had received a few interested voices previously, but I had decided not to follow up as I want them to take their own time and come up with their posts. And this is always that happens. But the first time in my blogging life, have I got a mail where a blogger has unabashedly told me that she wants to be guest posting, and that too with the pictures and post and all! I was really taken aback, albiet in a very excited manner, since I was so happy to see somebody so confident that she would definitely be on my space!
And that’s the character I am having on my blog today. It is none other than Ramya, who blogs at Lemon Kurry. I was on her space sometime ago, when she celebrated her blogoversary. I really don’t know how to express my excitement when she just wrote to me with the post itself! I sincerely appreciate her willingness to be on this little space of mine. She is a blogger I have seen who has improved so much in her food photography. This post itself is an example for the same! She has invested time and effort and definitely it is paying off. Her blog has a lot of simple recipes, especially I loved how quickly she had made these Lamingtons without much effort, yet looked so good! And don’t forget to have a look at these really cute pink cheesecakes she recently posted… I have been having them in my dreams these days! 😉 With strawberries coming back in season, she has bought along with her some delicious strawberry mini bundts that will leave you drooling…

Hi friends,this is Ramya Venkat from Lemon Kurry ,residing in Pune,India .Having a blog since 2012 september adding new day to day recipes in my space with some traditional and innovative touch.
Love to make more desserts, so you can able to see more number of desserts in my space. Initially I was over enthusiastic ,posting 2 recipes per day. Slowly, I came to post regularly with well-planned recipes,4 or 3 recipes per week. Rafee, one of my besties in blogosphere and she was always with me in every post. I adore her writings ,her recipes and all and sometimes got inspired through her writing.
I want to share this recipe on my dear friend’s space. We are friends since 2012 ,initially through some blog events and then we came close through our recipes and in 2014 she shared a recipe in my space. I really want to share a recipe in her space and I want to be her guest, so I planned a baked goodie. But I moved towards steamed baking and that is my addiction now rather than baking. So I am here with the steamed strawberry cake as the strawberry season here. Made some preserve and from that I made the steamed cake with my newly bought mini bundt pans.
Strawberry steamed cake
- Strawberry preserve – 1 cup
- All purpose flour – 1 ½ cup
- Condensed milk – ¼ cup
- Whole milk – 2 tablespoons
- Sugar – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – a pinch
- Baking soda – ½ teaspoon
- Oil – for greasing
- Icing sugar – for topping
Mix all purpose flour, salt and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
In a separate bowl, take the strawberry preserve, condensed milk, sugar and whisk till sugar melts and combined. Add milk and mix it well.
Now add the flour mixture and using the whisk make the batter without lumps.
Grease the bundt tins with the oil well and pour the batter .
Meanwhile prepare the steamer with enough water.
Place the tins in the steamer and steam cook it for approximately 20 -25 minutes in low flame.
Check the cake with the toothpick and once it came out clean, remove the pans and cool it completely.
Dust it with icing sugar and drizzle some chocolate syrup over it serve.
