Piyush ~ Thick Yogurt/ Shrikand Lassi

I normally don’t like to admit that I am tired. Actually speaking, I AM tired. Sleep is totally a limited business these days. With parents around, the kids are taking full advantage of the fact that I won’t be able to yell at them as much as I would when they aren’t there. Even though umma tells me to go off to sleep, I feel uncomfortable if the kids are not around or the thought is in my mind that they haven’t slept. No wonder they say that it is all in your mind. If I really want to sleep, I can just go off. On top of that, even though it is not even cold – I can’t believe we are almost at the end of January and winter is still playing peek-a-boo! 🙁 – it is so nice to sleep. So I just don’t feel like waking up in the morning… Hmm…

Coming to today’s post… My love for lassis is very evident on this blog. I came through this interesting lassi through Gloria’s space. Piyush is said to be a very thick and creamy lassi, with the base being nothing other than shrikhand! While all lassis use yogurt as the base, this one is a step further. Another specialty is the use of buttermilk, which gives it a nice tangy flavor to this drink. I would only suggest you to try this next time you make some shrikand. I feel this lassi can easily make a meal replacement since it is so thick and filling on its own! Off to the recipe…
