Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 85 gm butter softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 200 gm box of strawberries washed and hulled
  • 2-3 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 inch pan.
  • Whisk together the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  • Beat butter and sugar till creamy and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and beat till combined.
  • Add in the vanilla and milk and beat briefly.
  • Add the flour in two batches and beat till all mixed.
  • Pour into the prepared pan and dot on the top with the strawberries. Sprinkle the brown sugar all over.
  • Bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes till skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan and serve warm.
