Spiced Chickpea Burger

Ingredients

  • 400 gm can chickpeas
  • 1 onion minced
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  • 1 garlic pod
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 slice of stale bread
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 3/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • 3 buns for assembling the bun
  • Cheese mayo, ketchup, mustard, greens as required

Instructions

  • Wash and drain the chickpeas. Mince the onions and set aside.
  • Add the chickpeas and ingredients from coriander leaves to garam masala powder into the food processor and blitz till coarse.
  • Add the onions and toss well. Shape into three large patties and allow to rest in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  • Drizzle little oil on a grill pan and cook both the sides for a few minutes.
  • Assemble into a bun as per your requirement and enjoy!
