Prehaet oven to 180 degrees. Keep aside a 13x9 inch pan.
Chop the peaches and deseed them. Spread them on the pan.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and vanilla over it. Chop the butter and spread. Bake for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt till combined.
Add the milk and sour cream and whisk till well combined.
Add the melted butter and give it just one mix. Do not blend in.
Take out the pan with the peaches and toss the whole peaches with the mixture. Pour the batter all over the peaches and push it back into the oven.
Bake for another 25 to 30 minutes till done. Broil for a minute to brown the top.
Serve warm - tastes best then! - or at room temperature with whipped cream or ice cream.
