Ragi Malt ~ Finger Millet Drink

Ingredients

  • 2 cups skimmed milk
  • 2 tbsp raagi finger millet powder
  • 1 tbsp almond powder optional
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • Sliced almonds for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients except the honey in a saucepan. Mix well and bring to cook on low flame till the mixture boils.
  • Since raagi takes some time to cook, cook till it gets done.
  • Switch off the flame and add the honey. Whisk vigorously till well combined.
  • Pour into mugs, garnish with almonds and enjoy!

Notes

The almond powder is optional. You can skip it but it gives a nice flavor to the drink.
You can sweeten the drink with sugar, brown sugar or grated jaggery - the choice is yours!
You can even make this with part coconut milk instead of milk.
