Raagi Puttu ~ Finger Millet Steamed Hot Cake

Ingredients

cup
finger millet
raagi flour
A pinch of salt
Water as required
Grated coconut as required
Instructions
Roast the raagi flour on low flame for around five minutes or till a nice aroma comes.
Empty into a bowl add the salt and mix well.
Now add water slowly by slowly and rub into the flour till the whole batter is wet but not lumpy. Break all the lumps with your fingers.
Heat water in a pressure cooker.
In a puttu maker, put in some coconut and then top with the raagi flour. Pass steam through it till cooked.
Flip onto a plate and enjoy with some sugar and banana or with what goes best with puttu - kadala curry, cherupayar curry or any spicy chicken curry!
Notes
You can make this in the long puttu maker as usual. I have used the round one which goes on top of a steamer.
