Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Splutter cumin seeds. Fry the bay leaf briefly.
Add the ginger and garlic and fry for a couple of minutes till the raw smell is gone.
Add the onion and cook till soft. Now add the water, seasoning and green peas.
Close the lid and cook for three whistles or till the peas get well cooked. Switch off and allow the pressure to go by itself.
Take out the bay leaf. Puree the mixture using a hand blender till smooth.
Season with salt and pepper. Enjoy warm!
Notes:
You can use frozen peas as well. Only thing is that boil till soft instead of cooking in pressure cooker.
You can replace the seasoning powder with 1/2 tsp garam masala powder.
