Chinese Saucy Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken cut into medium pieces
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 4 large cloves garlic
  • 3 large onions chopped
  • 3 tbsp soya sauce
  • 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 large capsicum chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped spring onion for garnish

Instructions

  • Sprinkle the chicken with half the soya sauce and some salt and marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Heat the oil and add the chicken. Cook till the chicken turns white. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same oil, fry the garlic briefly. Add the onion and saute till wilted.
  • Add in the sauces and give a quick stir. Add back the chicken and coat well.
  • Cook on closed lid till the chicken is done.
  • When the chicken is almost getting done, add the capsicum. Add salt and pepper as need.
  • Serve warm garnished with spring onions.
