Aliv Kheer | Halim Kheer | Garden-Cress Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp assario seeds/ garden cress seeds
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups milk
  • A pinch of saffron
  • A pinch of cardamom
  • 2 tbsp honey for sweetness
  • Slivered almonds

Instructions

  • Soak the seeds in water till it plumps up.
  • In a saucepan, bring the milk to boil. Heat for around ten minutes. Add the saffron, cardamom and the soaked seeds. Stir well.
  • Cook for another ten minutes, stirring occassionally till the mixture is slightly thickened.
  • Switch off, add the almonds and the honey. Mix well and enjoy warm.
