Ingredients
300
gms string beans
washed and cut into meduim sized pcs
1
tbsp
coconut oil
1
tsp
mustard seeds
2
sprigs curry leaves
2
green chillies
slit
1/2
tsp
turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2
cup
grated coconut
Instructions
Heat the coconut oil in a large saucepan.
Splutter the mustard seeds.
Briefly fry the curry leaves and green chillies.
Add in the beans with the turmeric powder and mix well.
Close the lid and cook. When halfway, add salt and continue to cook till done.
Sprinkle in the grated coconut and toss it well. Cook for another couple of minutes and switch off.
Serve hot as side with rice and curry.
Notes
Do not add any water to cook string beans. When the lids is close, the vapor will generate enough liquid to let the beans cook.
