Coorg Style Meat Curry

Ingredients

  • 500 gm meat with bones
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • FOR GRINDING:
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 5 cloves
  • 3 cardamom
  • 1 small pc cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 3 green chillies
  • FOR TEMPERING:
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 sprigs of curry leaves

Instructions

  • Combine the meat with turmeric to salt and marinate for at least an hour or more if possible.
  • Grind everything under the "for grinding" section.
  • Add the marinated meat and the ground mixture into a pressure cooker and mix well. Adjust seasoning.
  • Cook on high flame for three whistles. Lower the flame and cook for another 10 minutes. Switch off and allow the flame to go by itself.
  • Heat oil in a saucepan and sizzle the curry leaves. Add into the prepared curry. Relish with rotis or rice!
