Fish Cutlets

Ingredients

  • 300 gm fish fillet
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 approx 250 gm medium potatoes
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp fennel powder
  • 1 medium onion minced
  • 2 green chillies minced (add more for spice)
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • Bread crumbs as needed
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  • Wash and drain the fish fillet. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the fillet.
  • Heat a little oil in a fry pan and shallow fry both sides for a couple of minutes or till done.
  • Take out into a plate, allow to cool, then using a fork, shred them.
  • Combine all ingredients from potatoes to garam masala in a bowl. Add the shredded fish.
  • Mix well to combine, adjust the seasoning at this stage.
  • Shape into patties, dip in the beaten eggs and coat sparingly with bread crumbs.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan, just enough to shallow fry. Fry both sides till golden brown.
  • Serve as is or with ketchup!
