Ice Cream Float

Should I call this a recipe? When I was home last year, whenever I used to get some free time, I used to watch Zee Khana Khazana at my parent’s home. There was this programme which focused only on smoothies and the like and one of the episodes had the recipe for something called an “Ice Cream Float”. I remember long time back Mc Donalds had this as special on their menu and a friend had commented how “bakwaas” (colloquial Hindi/ Urdu term for useless/ tasteless) it was, so I didn’t bother to try. Moreover, I am never a fan of fizzy drinks. I avoid them as much as I can and the only one I have is 7-up, when I really need to suppress any uneasy feeling in the tummy. 😉

Coming back to the programme, what she had used was a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream and some Pepsi and it looked interesting. As soon as I came back from home, while flipping through my fat scrap book, I had seen this in one of the cutouts, which made me want to try even more. So when I had half a box of pistachio ice cream and a half used can of 7-up that B had pushed into the fridge, I made this. You can use any ice-cream and any soft drink, and also use any topping to make it look more appealing. I didn’t go for any topping, because it was already a sugar overload! I loved the way how the ice-cream floats in the gas bubbles and gives a nice effect – kind of looks like a volcano! 😀 Enjoy how it looks, give it a stir and slowly drink in… Hehe… Off to this literal no-brainer…
