Puttu (Kerala Steamed Hot Cake) using leftover cooked rice

  • Cooked rice as required (preferably matta, you can use US parboiled also)
  • Rice flour as required
  • Salt
  • Grated coconut, as required
  1. All you need to do is to use your leftover rice - best to use is Palakkaadan matta or parboiled rice, mash it up well.
  2. Add enough rice flour till it resemble breadcrumbs.
  3. Layer it in your puttu maker with coconut in between and steam till done! That's it...
