Coconut Pistachio Biscotti

Everything has to come to an end, right? That is the policy of life. I had joined the Secret Recipe Club in June and was really enjoying my monthly assignments, when Sara declared last month that the SRC was winding up for good and November would be the last month. The monthly participation was dwindling and according to her, the club would be better off ending on a high note rather than allowing it to die. All of us agreed to it. I have been a part of a lot of challenges previously and it is heart breaking to see how the initial interest just goes down and then it goes into a natural death stage. The SRC is a highly successful event that has been going on for a few years now, so the decision she has taken was for good. I would have started in January, had not…

Hearty Bean Barley Soup

Time for the Secret Recipe Club reveal day! I must admit this is one challenge I am so happy to be in! Every month, once our reveal is done, I eagerly wait to see which blog is assigned for the coming month. A food blogger never gets tired of going through another food blog. The only issue is that it gives a feeling that there is still so much to try! 😀 I don’t think that is bad at all. As long as we realize that cooking is a continuous learning process, it will make you feel fine. 😉 The blog assigned to me for this month was “Our Eating Habits“. The owner of the blog, Jamie is the mother of three lovely kids, who are home-schooled, and she absolutely enjoys cooking for them. It is so well evident on her blog. The range of recipes on the blog is…

Strawberry Jelly Pudding

It is the third Monday of the month and time for the Secret Recipe Club post! I didn’t participate in the August month challenge due to my vacation. When the challenge was emailed for this month in August, I had all the time to go through the blog assigned for me, “The Gluten-Free Smith“. Tina, a Portland based blogger who went gluten-free for health reasons, makes her blog speak for itself, with some delicious gluten-free eats and treats and how much she loves cooking for her grandchildren – I somehow agree to that statement, since umma loves cooking for the kids and they adore her food a lot, even making comparisons of my food to hers!  After going through almost the whole blog, I finalised on these brownies and these amazing looking waffles.   Once I was back from my vacation, I kept procrastinating on making one of them….

Tropical Sunrise Muffins ~ Vegan!

Time for this month’s Secret Recipe Club post! To review all my previous posts and read about them, you can check out here. I have enjoyed each and every post that I have been working on and this one was no different. Since I am moving for my vacation back home next month, I wanted to make sure that I participate in this month’s challenge. If you would love to join the challenge – which I would highly recommend! – then do hop on to their page and submit your blog. I am sure that you will enjoy the ride once you hop in… 🙂     This month I was assigned the blog, Cook with Sara. She is a Midwestern American blogger, who has been blogging for the past eight years, so you can imagine how much of a treasure trove her recipe index is! The very first…

Cookie Batter Granola

A month after the other seems to come in full speed, and I guess it comes faster when it is for something exciting! Even though I am very new to the Secret Recipe Club – this is my third post, I am seen excitedly waiting for the email to come and start my browsing through the assigned blog for the recipe of my choice to try! So here I am with this month’s post… 🙂   I was assigned a blog with a very interesting name: Join us, Pull up a Chair. Heather, who runs the blog, basically asks us to get comfortable, feel at home and to read on. 🙂 I loved the name, seriously! 🙂 She has a variety of interesting recipes on the blog and since I was somehow fixated at wanting to make some granola, since it has been a long time since I had…

Corn Avocado Salsa

Time for the Secret Recipe Club post! This is my second SRC challenge in Group C and I am excited as usual! 🙂   This month , I was assigned “Where is my spoon?”, a lovely blog by Adina. She is a Romanian currently residing in Germany – both beautiful countries indeed! Don’t ask me how I know, Google is helpful enough in that case, isn’t it? 😉 Her recipe index is loaded with a wide variety of recipes, that look amazing yet are very quick to whip up. A few recipes that I noted up while browsing through her blog were the Broccoli Chickpea Soup, Golden Roasted Potatoes with Avocado Dip and Vegan Banana Bread. After a lot of contemplation and because I was in such a mood for a salad one night, I opted to make the quick Corn Avocado Salsa.   I have always loved avocado…

Croccante ~ Almond Brittle

I am so excited to be a part of the Secret Recipe Club. I have been wanting to join in since I have been seeing posts on some of my favorite blogs, especially Chef in Disguise. Also, this club has been going on for so long, very strongly! Moreover, it gives an opportunity to browse through a lot of new blogs that we are unaware of, opening up our horizons for more escapades in the kitchen. The blogs are divided into three groups, and I am assigned to group C, which is moderated by Debbi, who blogs at Debbi Does Dinner Healthy.   The blog I was assigned for this month’s assignment is The Savvy Kitchen, the blog baby of Amy. The blog specializes in low calorie and gluten free recipes. While pouring through the recipe list, I was impressed with the wide variety of recipes on her blog….
