Rose Milk Pudding

The weather seems to be changing rapidly and all you can see around are people who are either coughing, sneezing, or both!!! The days are foggy, which normally indicates weather changes in this part of the world. This change causes a lot of havoc with the health of people. The nights are starting to get less cold and becoming more better for walking, though I am not doing that! After work, it gets difficult to even find some time for myself and with the kids alone at home, I don’t feel like doing it. The time I get to spend with them is always the best relaxation I can get once I go home, so I really don’t want to miss out on the time I get with them, so my walks take a backseat for the time being. ūüôā Another pudding to the list of my easy-to-make lazy-head ideas –…

Kappa/ Malabar Tapioca Pudding – My 9th guest post for A Day Through My Life

I’m so glad that just the way I have had a lot of sweethearts agreeing and coming my way to do guest posts for my blog, the same way I keep getting emails from fellow bloggers for guest posts. Seriously, as much as I love to do them, I find it difficult to really decide what to give them. When Avika, who blogs at “A Day Through My Life” asked me for a guest post, I started running through my drafts to ensure that I would give her a sweet dish, which would be apt for the kind of person she is – yes, really sweet!!! I’ve loved the interactions I have had with her through email and FB and find her quite down-to-earth, with child-like innocence. Such people are so difficult to find these days and I sincerely feel that when you find them, cherish them!!! ¬† What I…

Double Coconut Pudding – My 3rd guest post for “The Cooking Doctor”

I am so excited today. I hope you understood that from the header itself. During a casual chat on FB, Jehanne asked me if I could do a guest post for her, as it would be like a recess for her blog. A recess, and that too with my guest post??? I was kind of embarassed. I consider her pictures first class, whatever said and done. This was so well evident in the guest post she had done for me a few weeks back and many of you have gone back to her page to see more of it as well. But she insisted I do one for her. I had made this double coconut pudding for my colleagues some time ago and it was an instant hit. The double flavoring of the coconut milk and the tender coconut water coupled up with the cream and condensed milk gave it…

Coffee Pudding

¬† Amn’t I happy today? We were blessed by the Almighty with a beautiful day yesterday. From morning, it was cloudy. While my umma and me were slogging in the kitchen cooking up for the large¬†entourage¬†of guests expected for lunch, the beautiful climate outside kept our spirits lifted. The balcony door was open to allow in the breeze, which sent chills running around. Yeah, quite strange, considering that we are in the end of April and the temperatures are supposed to be not less than 34 degrees. ¬† Drops… Once we had lunch – all of us together, it was a fun day with almost 20 people at home!!! – the women huddled together in the balcony to enjoy the rain. Wasn’t it fantastic! That breeze, the¬†continuously¬†showering was just too good to be true!!! Finally, in the evening, not being able to hold onto staying at home anymore, I dragged…

Carrot Pudding

After posting 18 recipes, I finally showed my little blog to my HD. He was kind of surprised plus happy as well. He somehow never thought that I would even do a recipe blog, especially knowing the lazy cook that I am. There is no surpise that he was surprised! ūüôā Hehe… He is happy for me and wants me to keep posting as long as I make something interesting. I’m glad that he is supportive… After sometime, I guess I can hand over the mantle of having to take the photographs for me, because he is a much better photographer. But then, to get his time is quite a big difficulty. Hopefully, later I may have some decent looking pictures… ¬† OK, now stopping my chatter and going off to the recipe…¬†I like to call agar-agar a life saver. You can literally make a pudding of anything with this¬†wonder-weed¬†…

Easy Coconut Milk Pudding

¬†¬† This was one dessert I had made with all leftovers I had. It was a depressing day – my whole family had gone to India and loneliness was creeping in. And me, being the sweet tooth, naturally went on to depend on a dessert. This was whipped in no time and set in very little time as well. Was really spongy and melt-in-the-mouth. Would definitely make this again… ¬† ¬† Updated on March 12, 2016 with new pictures! ūüôā The only difference is I made it in a mould instead of pouring it into a loaf pan. The old picture is below… ¬† Update on March 13 – after uploading the new pictures, I have got a few queries regarding whether the agar agar mentioned in the recipe is enough to hold the pudding. Yes, it will just hold the pudding, but it won’t be sturdy enough. If you…
