Pomegranate Raita (Yogurt Dip)

6- Pom RaitaPin

Sometimes, you learn a lot of lessons the hard way. Just sharing one of those lessons… It is a quote that I don’t need to even add any two-cents of mine, it is that crystal-clear… 🙂

I guess for every Indian, any heavy meal, especially something like biriyani, a raita or a yogurt dip is a must. The easiest one that we always make is the cucumber onion one and of late, I have started making beetroot raita, as it just pairs so well with really spicy biriyanis. The kids love it too. Another raita that the kids really adore is this one which has pomegranate seeds in it. It may be cumbersome to pull out the seeds from this lovely fruit, but it is always worth the effort, I feel. 🙂 I am one lazy head so I try to run away from buying pomegranates, but the kids would already be staying next to the aisle and reminding me to pick them up. Raita with pomegranates is very easy to make and give a nice sweet crunch when you relish it with your biriyanis or pulaos. This would also be apt to scoop it up with some spicy aaloo parathats or gobi parathas! Off to this simple recipe…
