The Hadith above is more than enough to let us know how important our mothers are to be in our lives, irrespective of what they are to us. So much that your paradise lies under your mother’s feet… I would never say that I am a good daughter, because I know knowingly and unknowingly I have hurt my umma’s heart in many ways, but Alhamdulillah, I try with all my possibility of covering up the pain I have given to her. Every moment I make it a point to do things that she likes and fulfil every wish of her, whichever is possible with me and would like to keep doing it as long as possible, InShaAllah…
Off to the recipe for today – Nothing beats the refreshing feeling provided by a good glass of smoothie. I love to blitz fruits with whatever combinations possible, especially when I go back home after a tired day at work. Just read in a weekend magazine that going on juicing diets can actually cause diabetes, because the sugars in fruits can be as high as that in a glass of coke once it is juiced! OK, that kind of made me worried, but then once in a while, a juice doesn’t hurt, right? After all, if we are conscious about our health, it is important that we have a balanced diet that includes all requirements to meet what the body wants – well, I wouldn’t advocate healthy eating, because I am a bad eater myself! Once I am able to stop my chocolate eating habits with the binge eating, then I guess I would be good enough to talk about it! Hehe… just look at this recipe for this instance, it has two dangerous things in it – Nutella and Horlicks!!! That is what makes this shake just so great…
Footer – When I posted that slide up that Jannah lies under the foot of your mother, I am reminded about a very recent incident. I always keep telling my Rasha and Azza that if you both do good and keep ummi happy, then ummi will always pray to Allah to give both of you the paradise under my feet. Azza had this obviously stuck in her head. Last week, as Rasha irritated Azza, Azza just blurted out, “Atha Allahuvinodu parayum, Athante kaalinte adiyile swargam thaathakku tharandannu!!!” (Atha will tell Allah not to give the paradise under Atha’s leg to thaatha – elder sister!!!) As I finish doing this, I can’t stop grinning from ear to ear… 🙂 Alhamdulillah for my daughters… Alhamdulillah…. 🙂
